The Mitchelstown Artisan Food Festival & Food Awards are inviting you to prepare a tasting menu and show it off to over 3,000 people at their festival on August 28, 2011.
The festival organisers want you to prepare a tasting menu of between 1 to 3 items of your choice (max. three items) and sell them at the festival which is in it's 5 successful year. This exciting and unique chance will allow you to interact with new and potential customers helping to promote your produce to an audience of approximately 3000 people.
A tasting menu offers small portions of dishes as a single serving. They are an innovative way of helping people be more adventurous and knowledgeable in all things culinary. This year's festival committee have placed a price ceiling of €5 per serving/individual item on the Taste Menu, each provider is welcome to charge below that it they so desire. Participating restaurants might issue a receipt for the €5 deducting this amount from a full meal price for people who order the taste item as a main course in your restaurant.
The festival committee is conscious of the need to promote local restaurants and eateries where the menu reflects a passion for high quality locally grown produce. Restaurants who partner with local producers where ever possible to source the finest fresh ingredients which allows restaurants to take pride in their menus while promoting locally produced food. Local produced food is a synthesis of the personality of the producer, the place it comes from, the product itself and passion in the manner in which it is produced.
The festival committee set out as our main objective the promotion of real food & real people. Throughout our communities people work passionately to create superior quality food. Like you these producers also deliver jobs into the heart of local communities.
